It's that time of year again, graduation! To the Class of 2010, congratulations!! I wish each and everyone of you much success as you venture into another chapter of your life.

This week began with many different little projects each night to prepare for the weekend of cakes! I'm glad it is all over, now I can get some rest and enjoy our start to summer with the kids!

Here are the pictures of several graduation cakes with a birthday and anniversary cake in there too!

This is for a young man who is graduating from Butler High School and heading to Juilliard in the fall to study Opera.
The bottom layer, the piano, is not cake, but styrofoam!
This is for a young woman who graduated from Providence High School.
Her favorite colors are hot pink and lime green!

I painted 2010 on each star with a little food coloring gel.
This senior was graduating from Butler high school as well and off to NC State in the fall.

A yummy almond cake with chocolate icing for a 40th Birthday!
My first attempt (in a long time) to create fondant roses...not bad, right?
Happy Anniversary!
Here I made 3 dozen almond cupcake bites decorated for a graduating senior in her school colors of black and gold.

Baseball theme bites for a little boys birthday party.

Baby Shower and Graduation Cakes

I made another adorable baby shower cake with the bird theme that I've done once before. I have to admit, this came out pretty darn CUTE!
What do you think?

I also made a small graduation cake for a young girl graduating from Parkwood High School in Monroe, NC.
EJS were her initials.
Congratulations Class of 2010!

Another school year has ended....

Tis the season for graduations and farewells. Seniors off to college and students graduating and entering the real world! My busy cake season of graduation cakes has begun! Here are a few things that I finished right before we left on our family vacation to Disney World last week.
Not the greatest lighting, my apologies, but I finished a graduation cake for a young teacher who was finishing her masters at UNC Charlotte, so the colors here are green and gold.

Here I made 50 almond cupcake bites for the French Honor Society at my alma mater - Providence Senior High School.

A "We'll Miss You" cake for a friend's coworker who was retiring.

My favorite creation all week! And one of those last minute ideas too!
I made cupcakes for the teachers at preschool and decorated them with chocolate butterflies. Kind of symbolic in that they helped my little guys grow and develop so much this year, just like butterflies grow and change.
I also gave them SteinMart gift certificates with this neat butterfly logo on them! To cool and a neat tie in with the edible gift! And Olivia's teacher taught her class about butterflies and they got to watch the caterpillars grow and change into butterflies before releasing them on the playground!

More to come next week!
